Pre and Post Festival

Vintage Band Festival and Historic Brass Society are offering exciting tour excursions for Festival attendees both before and after the festival weekend in August.  These outings are a wonderful opportunity to see historically significant collections that couldn’t be brought to Northfield.

1. To the National Music Museum in Vermillion, South Dakota.  National Music Museum (NMM) & Center for Study of the History of Musical Instruments is one of the great institutions of its kind in the world. Its renowned collections, which include more than 14,500 American, European, and non-Western instruments from virtually all cultures and historical periods, are the most inclusive anywhere.

We’ll leave by passenger van from Northfield in the morning of Wednesday August 4th, returning mid-day August 5.  $150, including overnight motel.

2. To the Chatfield Brass Band Library, a vibrant and robust collection of band repertoire run by community volunteers for community music.  We’ll leave by passenger van, Monday, August 9th 2010.
